Agassizi Corydoras Catfish (Corydoras agassizii)

The Agassizii Catfish or Agassizii Corydoras is an amazingly hardy yet peaceful species of corydora native to South America. This small creature grows to a length of 3 inches, making it a small catfish species, but that does not negate the fact that this fish is armored and covered in bony plates, which helps to establish this corydora as a robust type of catfish. Its light coloration with dark spots makes this fish distinctive and deceptively shy. This shoaling fish also prefers to be kept in groups, as it allows them to pursue natural foraging behaviors.

As a peaceful bottom-dwelling species, Agassizii catfish do well with other species of corydoras, guppies, tetras, and small peaceful catfish or shrimp, but only in optimal conditions. This playful and shy creature should not be kept with aggressive or territorial species.
