Stevensonii Mahseer (Neolissochilus stevensonii)

This particular rare species of mahseer occurs only in Burma Myanmar This mahseer has a taller more well rounded body and develops metallic golden scales and a thick black dorsal or lateral line. It's most prominent feature is a black near the tail. Mahseers inhabit both rivers and lakes, ascending to rapid streams with rocky bottoms for breeding. Like other types of carps, they are omnivorous, eating not only algae, crustaceans, insects, frogs, and other fish, but also fruits that fall from trees overhead. They are very easy to care for and readily accepts pellet foods.
